Process Offshoring & Automation (POA)

We helped a Siemens division to achieve 220' million USD savings with Process Offshoring/Outsourcing and Automation (POA).

The client was facing a number of challenges related to their support functions. Specifically, approximately 60% of their support functions headcount is located in a high-cost country, resulting in significant cost overheads. In addition, the client is dealing with a high volume of manual transactions, which can be time-consuming and costly to process. Finally, most of the processes are handled in-house, which can add to the overall cost burden. All these challenges are contributing to a situation where the client is looking for quick realization of savings, limited investment costs, and implementable results.

Client Requests:

  • Quick realization of savings.
  • Limited investment costs.
  • Implementable results.
Client Challenge

We address the above challenges with two key strategies:

  1. Process Offshoring/ Outsourcing: We move some of the functions to low-cost countries or 3rd party providers. This helps to reduce labor costs while maintaining quality and efficiency.
  1. Automation: We automate manual and repetitive process steps. This streamlines the processes and reduces the need for manual intervention, thus achieving cost savings and efficiency gains.
Our Approach

Our approach has the potential to deliver significant cost savings to our clients. We achieve short payback periods between 1 and 2.5 years, with attractive invest-output ratios up to 1:20 achievable in some cases. This combination of cost savings, efficiency gains, and attractive invest-output ratios make our approach a compelling option for any client looking to optimize their support function operations.
