Siemens Advanta Consulting – general information and projects

What are the tasks and responsibilities of Siemens Advanta Consulting?

Siemens Advanta Consulting is the  global management consultancy service for one of the world’s most innovative engineering and technology companies and its customers. Our role is to prepare our clients as best we can for future market developments, social changes, and the challenges of global competition.

As forward thinkers, we work across the whole spectrum of the business, providing worldwide support from our locations across the world.

We’re proud to say we’ve helped transform Siemens into one of the world’s top technology companies, while establishing the Group as a leading provider of pioneering technology products and solutions.

A key criterion when choosing a management consulting firm is the quality of its implementation skills. In order to develop pioneering strategies that are also practical and feasible, we need to have a detailed understanding of our clients’ needs, which we can then translate into specific actions and recommendations.

Thanks to our comprehensive network across the technology sector, we have built up wide-ranging and in-depth expertise across every area of the sector. The success of our projects and the resulting success of our clients are of equal importance to us.

Our consulting services are focused on our clients and their stakeholders. We use methodologies and best practice experience to solve critical business challenges, boosting our clients’ competitive advantage. As you gain experience, you’ll have the opportunity to build up an extensive and valuable network among top-level management, and many of our top consultants develop later into leadership positions or expert roles.

What kind of projects does Siemens Advanta Consulting carry out?

We cover all areas you’d expect to see at a top-level management consultancy focusing on digital transformation, such as factory and supply chain management, R&D transformation, sustainability, customer centricity, data analytics, and large-scale digital transformation. Our consultants work across various industries like automotive & new mobility, industrial goods, life sciences, and energy. That way, they get familiar with many different industries. Together, we deliver high-impact results that help our clients gain a long-term competitive advantage in the digital age.

How international are Siemens Advanta Consulting projects?

With our offices across the world and a global client base, there are opportunities to apply your expertise in almost every country in the world. In fact, every third project is located abroad. Our global pool of skills and experience allows us to create international solutions to some of today’s most complex challenges. You’re working Monday through Friday, either onsite with your team or remotely. For all projects abroad, you’ll be given the opportunity to fly home regularly.

If you’re looking for a world of opportunities, Siemens Advanta Consulting is for you.

What happens on my first day and what responsibilities will I be given in my first month as a Consultant?

Your first day is a special day for you and for us. Our First Day Team will take plenty of time welcoming you to the organization and settling you into your role. They’ll introduce you to your personal coach and mentor, one of our Vice Presidents, who will be there to support you throughout your career at Siemens Advanta Consulting. You’ll also get to meet our office support teams, who will set you up with a laptop, mobile and any other equipment you might need. And so that you’re ready to hit the ground running, you’ll be given a crash course in basic consulting work practices.

At Siemens Advanta Consulting, our management consultants take a client-facing role. In fact, the whole team works on site at the client’s worldwide premises.
You’ll be given responsibility for your own unique part of the project, and your Project Leader is there to offer you support, guidance and a steep learning curve. After just a few weeks, you’ll be the expert for your particular module, with your own unique approach to adding value for our clients.

How does the staffing process work for Consultants? Do I have a say?

When we select our projects, we know they have the full backing and approval of senior managers at our client. We’re then able to work closely with them to achieve the best possible results.

Every Wednesday our Vice Presidents have a staffing call where they discuss future consulting projects and decide which consultants would be the best fit for the job. We generally base our decisions on a few criteria, including:

  • Consulting experience
  • Methodological and industrial specialization
  • Academic background
  • Seniority
  • Personal interests

If there’s a particular project you’re interested in, you’ll have the opportunity to speak to your coach, who, depending on your workload, will put your name forward during the staffing call.
